CAPA DUBLIN SUMMER SEMINAR: MUSIC AND POLITICS IN IRELAND

The topics of music and politics may seem completely unique from each other, when in fact that are closely related. Over the years, political ideologies and messages have been embedded in the lyrics of songs all over the world. Whether the lyrics support or resist a political movement, music has been a valuable mechanism for musicians all around the world. This program helps students understand the relationship between politics and music in Ireland, and how this has been a fascinating aspect of the nation's history.
