Program Description:

Information on the CISabroad summer internship program in New Zealand

Important Gustavus Credit Info

This summer internship info assumes choice of the 8-week model. Note that the full load in an 8-week CISabroad Internship is 2 Gustavus units.

Because enrolled Gustavus students will be seeking academic credit, there is an additional $800 charge (reflected in the budget sheet shown here) for internship course enrollment at Plymouth State University, the school of record for CISabroad internships.

Limit on Career-Related Credits in the Degree. Note that students are permitted to count a maximum of 4 course credits of career-related experiential education toward graduation requirements at Gustavus. (This experience counts as 2 credits on its own.) This maximum includes: Career Exploration (268), semester or summer Academic Internships (368), Orientation to Teaching (EDU-268), and Student Teaching (EDU-392, 394, 395, 396). Additional credits (beyond the maximum of four) can be taken as a course audit (standard tuition applies) but would not be counted toward graduation. Applying Academic Internship credit towards a major is determined by the academic department.

Housing Deposit. In addition to the costs shown in the budget, participants will pay a refundable $500 housing deposit. The deposit may be fully or partially refunded after departure depending on the state of the housing after students leave.
