You may stay at each site for one or two modules. Sites include:
Berlin • London • Paris • Rome
Academic Tracks. Each module offers the same array of five academic tracks, as follows:
- Language, Literature, and Culture (no language in London)
- Communications, Journalism, and New Media
- Health Sciences (a public health focus)
- International Relations and Political Science
Accommodations. Housing options vary from site to site. See each of the Open Campus webpages above for details.
CIEE information. You will find more information about the Global Scholars program here.
Global Scholars Grants. CIEE offers Global Scholars Grants of $10,000 each to help offset the costs of this unique program. The grants are open only to students who will study for one module each at three different Open Campus program sites.
Note, too, that Gustavus also has, for spring semester 2017, one designated grant that is only available to a participating Gustavus student. The deadline to apply for the program and this special grant is August 15, 2016.
Application Process. Global Scholars applicants must complete this application in the Gustavus online system. In addition, you will need to complete a separate online CIEE application for each of the Open Campus sites at which you would like to study, indicating where you hope to spend Module One, Module Two, and Module Three. The Gustavus application deadline is March 1 for fall semester or academic year, and September 15 for spring semester. (For the special spring 2017 grant, the application deadline is August 15.)
Students who would like to be considered for the Global Scholar Grants should also complete the CIEE application for the grants program found here.
Note that CIEE reserves the right to change your preferred order of study sites due to immigration (visa) restrictions and other limitations.
