Global Scholars Program graphi

This program allows students to study in two or three of the CIEE Open Campus program sites within one semester. Each site follows the same academic calendar composed of three self-contained modules. Generally, students complete two courses within each module. Each course is 0.75 GAC units, so the total for the semester is 4.50 GAC units.

You may stay at each site for one or two modules. Sites include: NOTE: If you would prefer to stay at one site for all three modules, please apply to the particular Open Campus program directly through the appropriate program e-brochure. Here is a saved search of the Open Campus programs.

Academic Tracks. Each module offers the same array of six academic tracks, as follows:
  1. Language, Literature, and Culture (no language in London)
  2. Business
  3. Communications, Journalism, and New Media
  4. Health Sciences (a public health focus)
  5. International Relations and Political Science
  6. Sustainability & Environmental Sciences
You will follow one of these tracks (a bit like a "major" for your study away semester), though you may also take some elective courses from the other five tracks.

Accommodations. Housing options vary from site to site. See each of the Open Campus webpages above for details.

CIEE information. You will find more information about the Global Scholars program here.

Application Process. Global Scholars applicants must complete this application in the Gustavus online system. In addition, you will need to complete a separate online CIEE application for each of the Open Campus sites at which you would like to study, indicating where you hope to spend Module One, Module Two, and Module Three. The Gustavus application deadline is generally March 1 for fall semester or academic year, and September 15 for spring semester.

Note that CIEE reserves the right to change your preferred order of study sites due to immigration (visa) restrictions and other limitations.
